PERFORMANCE
immersive body
< > in-between
Consists of a series of performances relating the artist’s body and the landscape.
It begins in Peru in 2012, during Centro Selva Artist Residency I’ve participated. Since then, I’ve been exploring different landscapes and environmental tensions.
These first experimentations used key elements of the place: the wind in the desert and the water in an Amazon river affluent.

In January 2018 the UK was hit by a storm called Eleanor. Wind speeds over 90mph caused changes in the dynamic of the rain and the sea.

INSTALLATION & PRINTS
Camouflage
This project introduces new dimensions and media for a series of works that began in 2012. This investigation is devoted to creating an inventory of visual patterns of lines, colour stripes and types of material that camouflage surfaces, like the ones created by floral wallpapers, naval ships, indigenous graphic drawings and classic fashion patterns. Upon these patterns is embedded a human body silhouette that ranges from the artist’s auto reference to silhouettes captured from the collective imagery.

The installations works with mirror and vinyl cuts as well as wallpaper and wood. The spectator is inserted in these panels in distinct ways: sometimes as a reflection of its own image through the graphic drawings placed on the mirror, sometimes by the experience involving discovering the silhouette delimited by the small volumes on the wood boards covered by floral wallpaper.
Besides those installations, a set of methacrylate pieces portray digitally manipulated images from the combination of a human figure cut out from the fashion patterns. The idea is to develop a flattened perception of the volumes created in ambiences composed of Modern and Contemporary Design patterns that inhabit our Culture.
